　陸上男子100＆200メートルの世界記録保持者で五輪3大会連続2冠のウサイン・ボルト氏（33＝ジャマイカ）が「こどもの日」の5日、日本の若きアスリートにエールを送った。新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で全国高校総合体育大会（インターハイ）、全国中学校体育大会（全中）が中止になる中、スポーツ界のスーパースターは代理人を通じ、スポニチに独占コメントを発信。最上級生はステージが違っても新たな挑戦を、下級生は21年大会へのスタートを。「Stay　strong！（くじけるな！）」で結ばれたメッセージはきっと、次の一歩を踏み出す糧になる。

　Hi　to　everyone　in　Japan.

　I　understand　that　the　High　Schools’　and　Junior　High　Schools’　National　championships　have　been　cancelled　for　2020.

　Although　this　is　disappointing　for　the　athletes　involved　it　is　very　important　that　we　follow　the　advice　of　the　authorities　and　only　return　to　group　training　and　competitions　when　safe　to　do　so.

　Many　countries　around　the　world　are　facing　similar　situations.

　Hopefully　things　will　improve　soon　and　these　events　can　take　place　in　2021　in　a　safe　environment　for　everyone.
